I ran into these folks (on a much SMALLER scale) when I worked in a Bridal/Prom gown shop. Saw firsthand the whole “little girl pageant” thing. We didn’t specialize in this, nor did we even stock for it, but they still came looking for some mighty skanky stuff…and left frustrated.

Some women are lifers. If  THEY didn’t “make it”, they try to have their daughters become this “thing”.

Meanwhile Dad defers or checks out, becoming an ‘arm ornament’ who pays the bill.

It’s mighty bloodless – when a life becomes a product.

Recognizing child abuse and knowing when to make the call

The recent story of a 5-year-old Gresham girl dying after years of abuse is nothing short of horrible. But what makes things even more frustrating is that signs of abuse were obvious, Gresham police said, yet no one reported them to police. Court papers suggest there may have been one call to Oregon’s Department of Human Services, although the agency won’t confirm it.
